Blog description:
Youthgriculture is an agricultural based blog that opens up to youths the agricultural field of catfish farming and its allied activities. Nigeria imports about 900,000 metric tons of fish annually amounting to NGN 85billion which is a far cry of the 1.8 million metric tons of fish needed by her. Yet, Nigeria records about 40% unemployment rate especially the youths. The Youthgriculture is an avenue for youths to learn about the cat of cat fish farming (procedures, business and management) thereby bridging the gap in fish supplies while creating job opportunities for themselves and others

OBJECTIVES.

  • To increase youths awareness in agriculture
  • To educate the public especially the youth in the art and business of cat fish farming
  • To foster entrepreneurial spirit amongst youths
  • To be an agent sharing agricultural resource through Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Organization profile:

Students In Free Enterprise – Federal University of Technology (SIFE FUTO) is a partnership between business organizations and tertiary institutions that is preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders to create a better world for everyone.

The goal of SIFE is to inspire young minds in tertiary institutions to make a difference in their communities by developing and implementing life-changing projects that seek to improve the quality of life and standard of living of the community members. The efforts of SIFE Teams are to help aspire entrepreneurs, struggling business owners, low-income families and children experience success and individual empowerment.
Through SIFE, students in tertiary institutions improve their communities and experience profound personal growth. As they assume leadership roles of significance and influence, these students will be the key to leading more sustainable enterprises, building stronger communities and creating a world with greater and better opportunities for everyone.
