The policy dialogue, with an estimated attendance of over 200 participants provides an opportunity to review the current status of youth engagement in agriculture value chains, share lessons and experiences, identify challenges and opportunities and come up with tangible resolutions.
During the policy dialogue, case studies in six countries (Malawi, Mauritius, Swaziland, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe) will be presented and discussed. FANRPAN and CTA collaborated for the production of these studies which were conducted by youth representatives from these countries. One of the reports was produced by a youth member of the ARDYIS network (under another CTA youth activity).
The country studies will be synthesized into a regional report in order to get an overview of the current situation, identify gaps and better target interventions. The final report will be presented at the 2012 FANRPAN Annual High Level Regional Food Security Policy Dialogue.
