What is ARDYIS?

ARDYIS is a framework of actions which aims to raise the capacity and opportunities of youth in agriculture through ICTs in ACP countries (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific).

Its key activities include the Youth in Agriculture Blog Competition (YoBloCo Awards) and the AgriHack Talent initiative.

FARA is the apex organization for agricultural research for development in Africa. The FARA Secretariat is the lead institution for Pillar IV of NEPAD’s Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) which encompasses agricultural research and technology dissemination and adoption. FARA works closely with sub-regional organizations (SROs) and national agricultural research and extension systems to ensure effective implementation of CAADP activities. FARA is seeking to recruit a qualified individual to join its team as Social Media Intern.

The 3rd edition Africa-Wide Women and Young Professionals in Science Competitions received an overwhelming number of abstracts which covered a cross section of thematic issues. A total of extended 316 abstracts were received for both competitions; 131 for the Women in Science Competition and 185 for the Young professionals in Science Competition respectively.
