Since 2008 our senior one students of Gayaza High school spend 60 minutes each week in a nearby primary school to provide mentorship to the 10-12 year pupils and motivate them through solving mathematics class problems. Empowering Secondary school students to support our communities with the knowledge gained so far at school makes them more resourceful citizens. The mentorship programme where each primary school pupil talks to a secondary school student(s) at least once a week is so empowering and motivational. Turning knowledge learnt at school into skills development for community members enhances performance for the secondary school students but also provides relevant and cheap education to the community members.
However the success of this project has been hampered by the poor learning conditions at the school especially by the fact that the pupils do not receive any meal while at school. Motivated by the fact that food is a basic need for any human being we set out to engage our school members into farming for our own benefit and to feed the pupils in our community school. Knowing that it was going to become very difficult to engage the students in our school into farming we decided to take advantage of the available information and communication technologies (ICTs) to reach out to all stake holders through the use of a blog- www.feedthechild.wordpress.com.
With the support from one of our partner organisations that is involved in environmental education within our school and interested in food security and sustainability of our communities we decided to start as a small group of interested students and make public whatever small activity we engage in.
We have planted a one acre Maize garden and we shall highlight all our experiences through this blog.
One of our other strategies is to visit youthful farmers within our community and use our blog to make a profile of what they do and turn all our discussions held while on the visit into educational posts onto the blog. In this we hope to document and create localized agricultural knowledge that works for the people within our region. In future our partners will make use of this blog to sensitize and equip other residents within the area.
Our blog will also be a center of discussion that involves all stakeholders of the school to interest them into encouraging our school and other schools to engage into serious agricultural practices for the enhancement of food security for our schools and the community as well as the sustainability of our communities. We intend to only highlight good and natural agricultural practices for the sustainability of our communities.

f) To provide consultancy, expertise, feasibility study, specialized and skilled personnel to persons, companies, individuals engaged in or planning to engaged in all kinds of business and give advisory and support service pertaining to any instructions so given.
